About Me

Trust

Just when I thought I was so sick and worse off than most people, I searched lyme disease on tumblr.  I was brought back to reality when I read so many different stories with so many different struggles. I’m so grateful that I’m not as bad as these people.
Yes, I can’t remember anything I study (I need to keep a 3.5 gpa in order to maintain my scholarship).
Yes, I can’t dance anymore- or do many things I love.
Yes, because of my current treatment (picc line and antibiotics) I can’t go in the ocean or have much of a social life.
Yes, I’ve been on different antibiotics for almost 3 years (sick for about 7 years) and nothing has worked yet.
Yes, I’m always in pain and struggle with many symptoms- depression, fatigue, memory and joint pain- are a few.
-BUT-
I must remember that God has a plan for me and that it is a good plan.  I must remember that even if I don’t get better, it is for a reason.  He is sovereign, and FOR A LITTLE WHILE will I struggle.  If I am not healed here, I will be healed in heaven.  Even if I’ve been put in the position of a helpless person so often, HE IS MY HELP. He is in control, He knows the steps I take.  What a comfort.
During this trial, I’ve learned so much.  I’ve gained a bigger heart for others going through trials.  I’ve learned so much from God’s Word and have strengthened my faith.  I’ve been able to be an example to so many others.  I only pray that I would continue to do God’s will- even if it means not being healed right away and losing my scholarship. He is good.

"I will instruct you and teach you in the way that you should go; I will counsel you with my eye upon you." -Psalm 32:8

So comforting to know that God will lead me though through life, every twist and turn, He'll be my guide.

What's Come Around

I figured you guys deserved a little update on my life since I finally finished putting up pictures from our cruise back in May.

This summer: I went on a cruise, I graduated, I went to NEXT, and I made some great friends.

Also, starting June 16th, I got a PICC line to help with treatment for lyme disease.  I was first on Ceftriaxone, but recently changed to Azythromycin on the 19th of August.  It takes about 2 hours to infuse and makes me feel sick.

Anywho, as a result of my summer being spent trying to get better, I haven't been doing much socially.  No beach trips, no working, and no hanging out with friends 24/7 like you guys do.  That's the only reason why I haven't posted on here in a while.

Oh! And I got myself a tumblr- follow me! http://for-a-little-while.tumblr.com/

School is starting up next Monday, and I'm going full time to Montgomery College.  Five classes, 4 days of the week.  I'm not ready to die yet.

Family Cruise 2011- part 5

Our last stop was at Puerto Rico.  It was beautiful, the town had colorful buildings with great architecture.

One of the places we walked to was a historic fortress that kinda had a huge history.  It was amazing there, and pretty hot.

One of the places soldiers stood watch.

And here's the picture that seems like it's the best one out of the whole trip.  Natural coloring.

Cannons.

This little guy came and surprised us.

As we were walking, there was a park with tons of pigeons.

This was the pigeon man.

They literally came and sat on you if you had food.

And here ends the pictures of our cruise.  We had a grand time.  From formal nights, where my dad made my brother walk next to me to keep the guys away, to the Belly Flop contests that the older guys entered. :)

Family Cruise 2011- part 4

Our third port, we went to St. Thomas.  It was cloudy, and had millions of jewelry shops, but we managed to find some places to go.

We walked up the famous 99 steps.

They had cute gates.

We walked by Blackbeard's castle, the view was grand.

Mango trees :)

Then we took a cab to another beach, which would've been a beautiful blue if it hadn't been cloudy that day.

There were funny seabirds.

This one's kinda funny because the camera focused on the bird rock and not Emma :P

Emma learned how to snorkel for the first time.
